Welcome to Stardalen Stardalen Hyttegrend is located in Jølster municipality, close to the Jostedal Glacier National Park, halfway between Bergen and Ålesund. Stardalen, in Eastern Jølster has all the dramatic beauty of Western Norway. The chalets lie a few kilometres away from the trunk road, with no heavy traffic or other disturbing noise. The road that lead to the chalets are of motor road standard, and grocery shop and café lie only 500m away. The people of the area are mainly farmers, and livestock includes cows, sheep and goats. Several side valleys, some of them with buildings from the days of the summer dairy still intact, are ideal for lighter walks or skiing trips. Whatever your interests and physical fitness level, mountains and glaciers are close at hand with their vast variety of alternative routes. The photogallery shows some of what the nature offers. The acivity page shows different activities for everyone to participate in. The municipality centre, Skei, is 12 kilometres away, with access to banks, cash dispenser, post office, filling station, car repair shop, police and medical centre. Skei is a traffic centre with arterial roads to other regions of Norway, and is an excellent starting point for day trips. Audhild Vikens Vevstove(Weaving mill) is also located at Skei, and is one of the largest shops in the country, regarding home and handicraft articles.
